I love cherries in desserts. It enhance the taste and is best put to use for decorating any sweet dish. Cherry Clafoutis is the most easy French dessert I've ever made as it is so tasteful . Though it contains simple and common ingredients but results delicious and fabulous. Best dessert to eat in summer; serve warm or chill as per your own choice.

 

Ingredients :


Flour   3/4 cup (100g )
Milk   1 cup ( 240ml )
Sugar  1/2 cup ( 100g )
Eggs   4
Butter ( melted )  4tbsp ( 30g )
Fresh sweet Cherries ( stemmed and pitted)  20 oz ( 600g )
Almond Essence   3 drops
Vanilla Extract   1/2 tsp
Powdered Sugar (for dusting purpose)  as required


Directions :

First of all, preheat the oven to 350 F (180C). Greasearound10 inch baking dish or pan with butter; also dust it with 2tbsp sugar. Arrange a single layer of cherries. keep it aside.
In a large mixing bowl, add eggs, sugar and butter. Mix well and then stir in the flour.Now add milk, vanilla extract and almond essence and blend well. Add melted butter now and mix it thoroughly.
Pour the above mixture over the cherries. Bake for about 40-45 minutes until puffed and golden brown in color. Cool for few minutes on room temperature. Sprinkle powdered sugar while serving. Serve it warm or chill as you like. Enjoy the sweet aroma around you :)



Persian Love Cake

Ingredients:
3 Cups Almond Meal
1 Cup Raw Sugar
1 Cup Brown Sugar
120g Softened Butter
2 eggs, lightly beaten
250g Yogurt
1 Teaspoon Ground Cardamom
2 Teaspoon Rosewater
2 Teaspoons Dissolved Saffron
3 Tablespoons Slivered Almonds  3 Tablespoons Silvered Pistachios







 
Procedure:
  1. Preheat Oven to 180C.
  2. Combine all dry ingredients.
  3. Rub butter with fingertips until the mixture turns into crumbs.
  4. Sprinkle half of the mixture into lined baking tin (I used 26cm) and press with the bake of a spoon.
  5. Add eggs, yogurt, cardamon, rosewater and dissolved saffron to the rest of the mix and mix with a spoon until smooth.
  6. Pour over the base.
  7. Scatter slivered almond and pistachios over the cake.
  8. Bake for roughly 20 minutes (until fully risen)
  9. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for further 20 minutes (to stop over-browning it)
  10. Cool in the tin. 











 

Nawroze is the name of persian New Year, which is also celebrated by the Parsi community across the world. This is easy to make and delicious to eat, a unique cake recipe. It is actually one layer cake and is very moist and dense.

                                              

Ingredients :

Butter  3/4 cup
Sugar  1 1/2 cup
Eggs  2
Vanilla Essence  1 tsp
Almond extract  1 1/2 tsp
Flour  1 1/2 cup

Topping :

Sugar  1 Tbs
Mixed Dry Fruit ( Haft Mewa)  3/4 cup

Note :  Haft Mewa means " seven dry fruits" : Raisin, Almond , Walnut, Pistachio, Hazelnut,
Prune ( dry fruit of Apricot), Sanjed ( the dried fruit of the Oleaster tree)

Procedure :

Preheat the oven to 360 degree. Melt butter. Pour melted butter in a bowl and stir in sugar. Add eggs and beat well till creamy. Add all other ingredients except "Topping Ingredients".

Grease a 9 inch pan. Pour the batter into the pan. Spread mixed dry fruit over the
top and sprinkle the sugar. Bake for 40 minutes.

 Note : This recipe doesn't have baking powder or baking soda so you will get a heavier textured cake.




For Eid celebrations, we introduced you a sweet delicious vermicelli cake. In South Asia, vermicelli is known by various local names such as seviyaan, semiyan or sev. It is used in a number of dishes including variation of puddings and lots of desserts like 'sheer-khurma' which is very popular on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. Hope you and your guests will enjoy it on Eid.

( servings : 4-6)

Ingredients: 

Vermicelli  100 grams
Semolina  2 Tbsp
Eggs  3
Butter  3 Tbsp
Sugar  4 Tbsp
Milk  3/4 cup
All Purpose Flour  1/2 cup
Baking Soda  1/2 tsp
Powdered Milk  2 Tbsp
Cardamom Powder  1/2 tsp
Almond Essence  1/2 tsp
Dates (chopped)  as desired
Cherries (chopped)  as desired

Preparation :

First of all, dry roast vermicelli in a pan until golden brown. Now add milk to it and allow it to cook on  low flame for 2-3 minutes. Take a large bowl and beat 3 eggs well. keep it aside.

Take another bowl and add semolina, butter and sugar; mix well than put beaten eggs into this mixture; again beat well. Now add flour and milk powder to it and saute well. Add baking soda, cardamom powder and almond essence and mix nicely.

Transfer cooked vermicelli, chopped dates and cherries to it. Mix well; if you feel it thinner in its consistency
than add some flour to it. Sprinkle some vermicelli on the top and bake it for 30-45 minutes on 130 degree.
Allow it to coo on room temperature. Cut it in squares and decorate it with cherries.
Now, it is ready to serve and eat.  Have a nice Eid Day !!!
